OPETH To Guest On This Week's 'Hard Files'
September 22, 2008This week's edition of "Hard Files" on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hard Attack will feature special guests Mikael Åkerfeldt (vocals, guitar) and Fredrik Åkesson (guitar) of the Swedish progressive metal band OPETH. Mikael and Fredrik open up about their 18 years in progressive metal, and discuss everything from their latest release, "Watershed", family life to the impact blues has had on their impressive career of making near perfect heavy music. You’ll hear Mikael- and Fredrik-approved tracks from MORBID ANGEL, ACCEPT, PORCUPINE TREE, BLACK SABBATH, BLOODBATH and, of course, plenty of OPETH!

OPETH will take part in a signing session in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at Scrape Records (323 East Broadway; 604.877.1676) on Friday, October 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

OPETH will embark on a European headlining tour in November/December. Support on the trek will come from THE OCEAN and CYNIC.
"Watershed", the new album from OPETH, sold more than 19,000 copies of in the United States in its first week of release.
"Watershed" is the follow-up to the band's acclaimed "Ghost Reveries" CD, which debuted at No. 64 on the Billboard chart back in September 2005 with first-week sales of just under 15,000. OPETH's 2003 album, "Damnation", opened with a little over 5,000 copies.
